Neutral Dress

I love this neutral colored dress. It’s so easy to wear and so comfortable too. I’ve worn it on several different occasions throughout the years. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts (here and here) engagement parties, rehearsal dinners and weddings are filling up weekend schedules this year. Pairing this dress with a pink clutch, pink shoes and pink lipstick was the perfect touch for an outdoor summer rehearsal dinner. Have a great weekend!

Toi et Moi Pour Toujours

Sparkler 2In yesterday’s post, I mentioned that the main reason I traveled to France this past weekend was for my aunt’s beauitful wedding. And that’s exactly what it was – an absolutely beautiful wedding weekend. It had been such a long time since my entire family was all together and that was my favorite part of the trip. We laughed as we remembered old jokes from way back when, we danced the night away as if no time had passed at all, and we reminisced on all of the moments we’ve shared together. There were some members of my family that I had not seen in over ten years so for all of us to be together again was really special.

My aunt wore a gorgeous, classic, cream colored dress that fit her beautifully. To top the outfit off, she wore sparkly shoes and a pearl necklace to match her pearl hair accessory. She was incredibly happy as she walked down the stairs from the mayors office, where the ceremony took place, hand in hand with her man by her side.

The reception took place in an elegant hotel inside a large banquet hall where each table was named after a specific type wine from the French region. Foie Gras (my absolute favorite) overflowed the appetizer section, champagne bottles were endless (my second absolute favorite), and fountains of chocolate desserts took over the tables. The ceremony and the party couldn’t have been more perfect. I hope we don’t wait for another wedding for all of us to be together again because this was way too much fun…Cousins Dancing Me and Mom Me and Mom 2 the bride and cousinswalking in mayors office WOmen Sparkler outside tent Men

Black Tie

Wedding season starts as soon as you hit your 20’s and it’s a ridiculously good time. Post college, save the dates & invitations start pouring through the mail. Before you know it, you’ve been invited to be a bridesmaid, a maid of honor, a best man, or a wedding guest. This past January, I had the privilege of being one of those wedding guests at a beautiful wedding in San Francisco. A very close friend of mine from college, invited me to fly out and celebrate her very special day with her close friends and family.

It was an amazing black tie wedding, filled with love, laughter and great company. The ceremony was held in a gorgeous Catholic church right in the heart of the city. The ceremony was followed by a wedding reception at a stunning country club overlooking the SF sunset right on the bay. The view of the Golden Gate Bridge was picturesque – the night could not have been more perfect.

This was my first black tie wedding and I wanted to wear something elegant, appropriate but fun too. When I think of black tie attire, my mind automatically goes to long dresses of sorts. Greyish, blacks, blues and reds are dress colors that first come to mind (never beige or white, obv). I have a few friends that are invited to black tie weddings this summer and they’ve expressed a bit of a challenge with finding the perfect dress at a reasonable price. Here are a few options under $200 that I loved. Happy FRI YAY!

Bridesmaid Gifts?

DSC_0077
I loved being a bridesmaid at my friend Casey’s wedding. I am extremely lucky to have had such a fun, drama free, first time experience. As people my age are getting engaged & married, I have been hearing tons of bridesmaid and bridezilla horror stories. Casey was thankfully the complete opposite of a bridezilla – she was so calm, inclusive in her decision making, conscious of people’s time, aware of activity costs, and I really could go on forever. She strived to make it a special day for all of us bridesmaids throughout the entire experience.

When I received not one but TWO gifts from Casey for being a bridesmaid, I was utterly confused (in a good way).“Why am I getting a beautiful Kate Spade Knotted Bracelet and a gorgeous black & white framed picture (see above)? All gifts should be for you, Casey!”  But apparently, bridesmaid gifts are an actual “thing.” Who knew! My curiosity about bridesmaid gifts led me to the ‘net where I scavenged for cute ideas and personal takes. Take a look!

10.25.14 – A Day to Remember

I am always stunned and impressed as to how the little details of a wedding can truly depict and tell the story of a beautiful couple. The thought and consideration that goes into every minute step of throwing a celebration that one will remember forever is pretty amazing. After recently receiving pictures of one of my best friends wedding, I was able to relive every moment of that day which brought me back into a flurry of emotions. The wedding was not only gorgeous but it was also so authentic and genuine, that it warped you into the love that Mike & Casey have for each other.

Their story is a romantic one. Girl meets boy at a sailing summer camp in New England. Girl flirts with boy by pushing him into the water. Boy flirts with girl by pushing her into the water. They start chatting and from that moment on, sparks begin to fly.  That day, laid a foundation for a friendship, which turned into a relationship, which ultimately turned into the type of love and respect that everyone strives to find at least once in their lifetime.

I was extremely lucky to have been part of Casey’s special day as one of seven bridesmaids. We have been as close as two sisters’ ever since our freshman year of college. The stunning reception was nautical themed, with blue, white & red hues, and piercing Massachusetts water taking over the backdrop. New England oysters, Moscow Mules, laughter amongst friends and non-stop dancing ( as well as bouquet catching), all made this day a day to remember.10959675_10204135924898699_4825953725366063169_n10984067_10204135941139105_7054404985162916478_n 10527806_10204135943179156_2048697646879603153_n10959370_10204135932258883_5232761794779294917_n10406731_10204135940299084_2881651575322504125_n10989166_10204135924938700_23293791525539254_n** All images taken by Henry + Mac
