Music Thursday ~ No.10

It has been a LONG time since I’ve posted a Music Thursday series post on the blog. There isn’t any rhyme or reason as to why that is and I actually miss doing it (and I know mama c’est moi misses Music Thursday’s too).  Maybe a part of me subconsciously thought, “does anyone really care about what song I’m into as of late?” but then I took back that thought and threw it out the window. Because who cares! I can post a cool, feel good song on a Thursday if I feel like it, amirite?

Tomorrow is Friday and oh dear I have been wayy looking forward to tomorrow. This week was one of those “feels like a really long week” kind of week. Between corporate life (life is tough!), running (only week 2 of training) and staying social (one dinner date), I am super tired… So here’s to Friday and a weekend full of yummy brunches, hanging with friends and dabbling with a long run!

Happy Summer! As July has come around really quickly, it finally feels like summer is here! Everyone seems to be in the mood to run outside, invite people over for BBQs, drink margs on rooftops and lay outside by crystal blue pools in the Hamptons. And it is all a very happy feeling indeed.

This long 4th of July weekend was really great – I explored Manhattan since it was absolutely empty which was heavenly. I was able to get a 7:30 pm reservation at Santina, a new restaurant in the Meat Packing district, where 7:30 pm is a time that usually needs to be reserved months in advance. I’ve been dying to try this new, hip place and let’s just say it was absolutely delicious. I also walked everywhere all weekend which felt amazing and I was able to finish week one of marathon training! Let’s just say July has started off on a very positive note. In just a few short weeks, my big summer trip to Greece is coming up and I am beyond excited. It will be a very interesting atmosphere because of recent political events but nonetheless amazing as it always is.

What did you do this past weekend for the fourth of July? I would love to hear about what you were up to! Here are a few of my favorite Instagram snaps from June – if you don’t follow my adventures yet, be sure to do so @cestmoinatasha on Insta!

c’est moi natasha running confessions // 1.

10521792_757047187746679_3101912126384533671_nToday marks day one of marathon training! I am feeling both anxious and excited as I embark on this new, long, running journey. June wizzed by in a flash and as July was approaching, the big start date (today) was highlighted & marked down in my brain calendar as the official day. I told myself I just need to dive right into it.

I’ll be closely following the Hal Higdon Marathon Training plan. I didn’t join a running group or an official training program, so I am completely on my own which is pretty scary. I keep thinking to myself, can I really do this? Will I be able to stick to a consistent schedule? Well, let’s see what happens. I’ll just have to try my best, right?

I’ve been gathering tips along the way from close friends that have ran marathons before and I’ll definitely keep asking questions and picking their expert brains apart since I am totally new to this world. Here is a peak of the training schedule that I am more or less going to try to follow:

Instead of doing cross training today, I ran 3 miles so I’ll probably replace the 3 mile run scheduled for Thursday with some sort of cross training. See… already modifying things here…

I will be sharing my marathon experience from time to time on the blog in this new series called c’est moi natasha confessions. I hope you enjoy it and follow along this running journey with me. I am going to need all the support I can get!

It’s June party people! How did we get here so fast? It’s already mid 2015! It was a bit of a bummer waking up this morning to June gloom rainy NYC weather but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to another great month. Summer barbecue plans, a weekend trip to France, and good friends visiting town, has me all excited for these next upcoming weeks. Do you have any fun June adventures planned? Tell me, I want to hear all about it!

Music Thursday ~ No.9

Today, marks the 3 month anniversary of c’est moi natasha! What the heck, time has just wizzed on by. Honestly, I never knew how much work, time and effort goes into a blog until I took a leap and started my own. Coming up with content (and good content at that), churning out ideas (the notes app on my iPhone has been a favorite), proofreading (and I still make grammar mistakes), researching, taking pictures etc. Having said all of that, I am absolutely loving it.

As I’ve mentioned before, I am always looking for ways to keep learning about this digital bubble. I was a little disappointed in myself this last month because I didn’t focus on learning new tricks of the trade like I wanted to. I have a to do list though that I put together for this month and hopefully I can cross out at least one thing from it. I figured if I shared it with you, it would hold me accountable!

1. Learn how to navigate photoshop and use something I’ve learned in one upcoming post.

2. Take more pictures this month using my “good” camera.

3. Create an editorial calendar!

So here’s to this month being a great, new, learning month! Speaking of new, have you listened to the brand new Mumford & Sons album?!? It’s on Spotify and you should listen to it right.this.instant, it’s awesome. Here is my Thursday fave!

Between Greekster, Passover and Williamsburg, it’s definitely been an adventurous month. My gym schedule has been pretty consistent too which makes me a very happy girl. I’ve also discovered snapchat a few weeks ago which has been a huge game changer. I was kind of living under a rock and didn’t really understand snapchat but now I kinda love it. How do you feel about it? Follow me on snap, Natasha Kardassis, if you dare!

There is still a TON to look forward to in May and I can already tell it’s going to go by in a flash. My weekend plans have filled up with a Mother’s Day gathering, Memorial weekend traveling, and friends NYC visiting, but hey I am not complaining!

These April pictures are from my insta – don’t forget to follow all of my adventures at c’est moi natasha!

Music Thursday ~ No.8

Tomorrow is the first of May, can you believe that?! Time is slipping by real fast and it’s kind of scary. I feel like I just started the blog but it’s been closer to three months since I started c’est moi natasha. So much more to come and so many more ideas I’m cooking up!

Tonight, I had an Italian dinner with my family but as soon as I walked into dinner, I was a little tense and stressed for no good reason at all. It was a good 9-5 work day, a good work out after the work day and a good sauna sitting after the work out. It’s Thursday though and that calls for some music. With this unsolicited stress going on, I’ve had to mellow myself out a little with a few easy going songs.

Here is my Thursday pick, enjoy!

Music Festive

renee-shepard-sales.nocrop.w1800.h1330.2xI’m not a music festival kind of gal. The crowds, the heat, the wandering aimlessly, the uncertainty – it’s actually all kind of frightening to me. A few years ago, I attended Governors Ball on Randall’s Island in NYC (aka. Gov Ball) and disappointingly a  huge monsoon struck the city and the entire music festival was drenched in soaking, wet, mud for three whole days. Let’s just say it was not fun at all to be walking around in rain boots, sinking in dirt.

Despite not having any urge to attend music festivals, I do follow Coachella fashion prettyy closely. I love seeing new trends and fresh faces every year on social media (shout out to Gigi Hadid this year). I’ve rounded up a few 2015 Coachella looks that I’ve fallen for which (not on purpose) happen to be all white outfits. What look is your fave?

Music Thursday ~ No.7

I’ve never had allergies before but this season, I’ve been sneezing and sniffling ever since the looks of spring started to come about. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older? Who knows. Anyways, enough about that. So lately I’ve had this urge to “keep doing better” since I am ultimately the one in control of my own world. Whether it’s working out, my 9-5 job or my personal life – I just want to keep killin’ it. This song has been one of those “motivating” songs I’ve been listening to so I thought it was perfect to share this Thursday since it ties in with exactly how I’ve been feeling lately.

Happy Thursday and keep on killin’ it this week!

PS. Have you checked out my new video? How about Music Thursday No.6?

Music Thursday ~ No.6

I’m feeling a bit under the weather today – I think the shift from cold to warm to hot to cool weather sickness is going on around town. Sore throat, headache, achy feeling, it’s all pretty yuck. I tend to push myself a little too much when I’m feeling not so good which of course makes everything THAT much worse. Today, I decided to take it a bit easy so I can nip this one in the butt (bud?) and avoid the grouchiness altogether.

My good friend who is currently army training introduced me to this artist Mat McHugh. His guitar skills are pretty insane and his voice is really mellow. I’ve grown to love a lot of his music but this is one was my favorite listen today since I was looking for something soothing and calm. Take a listen and let me know what you think!

Isn’t he great?
