Friday Feels

{Firework gazing on the fourth of July}

I used to do a monthly blog post called “Looking Back” where I’d share pictures of random happenings in my life from that past month. I thought I’d change the series up a bit where every Friday of the week I’ll share tidbits of that particular week. Here is the first of many Friday Feels. I hope you enjoy it!

Music Thursday ~ No.13

On August 13th, I’m heading to Jones Beach to watch Blink-182 play their new album California. I am a huge Spotify fan so as soon as the album came out, I’ve been listening to it on repeat in order to prep for the big day. Here is one of my favorite songs from the album that I thought I’d share. Happy Thursday!

Gift Guide For Her – Part One

I love giving gifts. Every year, my strategy is to 1. tailor what my friends and family would love based on their personality types – are they fashionistas, exercise feins, beauty moguls or a little type A? And 2. I try to put myself in their shoes – if I were receiving this gift, how would I feel? Would I love it? If the answer is yes, then I’m definitely buying it.

In order to make holiday shopping a bit easier, I’ve prepped my gift guide for her way ahead of time. I am so pleased to share with you part one of c’est moi natasha’s gift guide for her – a gift guide tailored to all of the Type A’s and the Exercise Fein’s out there. Stay tuned for part two!

The big, bad marathon is a little less than two months away which is a tad bit scary. Training is getting much more intense every week, especially as December is starting to slowly (but not so slowly) creep up. My legs feel stronger than ever and 12 miles is starting to feel routine and casual which is something I never thought I would say. The amount of time marathon training takes has been a bit of a surprise. Of course I knew it would take time to train but when I need to allot at least two hours a day to just focus on running & stretching after or before a long day of work, it can definitely take a toll.

Running has become a top priority especially recently because of the anxiety I have about December being right around the corner. I remember sharing the news when I had just signed up for it in May like it was yesterday. Crazy how time flies.

As I’m slowly building my Spotify playlist (I love running with music), I thought I would share what it looks like so far. Yes, a lot of top 50 songs I’m jamming out to. I definitely have a bunch more songs I need to add so please please give me any and all suggestions you may have! Leave a comment below! Screen Shot 2015-10-11 at 8.18.45 PM

Looking Back

{J.Crew Women’s Networking event I attended last week  – blues & purple in full force}

Between my London trip, marathon training, crazy work schedule and celebrating birthdays, September was a whirlwind. I’m happy temperatures are lowering just a bit (just a little bit only) so I can pull out my comfy sweaters and leggings.

A few days into October and my to do list is piling up for the month.I’m really looking forward to running the Baltimore Half Marathon next week with one of my best friend’s Caroline. We are planning a fun weekend in DC and fun brunch plans for after the run! Other than that, traveling is coming to a stop until Christmas break but I’m happy to be here and get settled before moving uptown!

Here is a recap of my looking back to last month.

Yoga Tonight!

Screen Shot 2015-09-15 at 7.35.38 AMI’m lucky to be surrounded by very talented and successful friends. My friend Julie Ann is an amazing Yogi and she now has her certificate to teach the art of Yoga which is a pretty incredible accomplishment. Yoga is something she is extremely passionate about and she loves teaching as well. Let’s just say I’m not the most flexible person out there but I’ve attended a few of Julie Anns yoga classes and she teaches at a pace that is open to all levels. She takes the time to fix postures and to really walk through all of the movements.

Tonight, she is teaching a FREE yoga class at the Athleta on the Upper East Side in New York City. If you’re in the city tonight, definitely come to her class because it is absolutely worth it.

Looking Back

{Pretty flowers and vase at Laguardia Airport}

Summer has come and gone so quickly. These past few months have been full of travels, adventures and new experiences. I couldn’t have asked for a better time. Even though I am sad to see these summer months go, I am definitely getting ready for the upcoming fall. I have this giddy back to school feeling inside but instead of buying new notebooks and binders, I’m ready for a wardrobe change. I’m also feeling re-energized for the next four months of 2015. I’ve loved writing these Looking Back posts – it gives me an opportunity to not only reflect on the past month but also reflect on what’s upcoming too.

Here are a few tidbits from my Instagram from August. I’d love to know what adventures you have in store this fall!

c’est moi natasha running confessions // 2.

Three full months are now left of marathon training which is pretty crazy. Pressure is ON. If you caught my last c’est moi natasha confessions post, I was JUST starting the training off. I’m excited to be in semi good shape to run  distances that I haven’t pushed myself to run before. That being said, I still have a ways to go. One thing I’ve learned throughout training is to start being more confident in myself. If I stay consistent and focused these next three months, all will be good. Having the support of family and friends has been a huge life savor too.

For this last summer weekend, I was in Kiawah, so I had the chance to run and train on the course that I will be running on December 12th! The weather was a bit more humid than I am usually used to which made it a bit tough to train but by the time December rolls around I’m sure the weather will be jusssttt right. So here’s to the next three more months of training (and squeezing two 20 mile runs in between)!

Music Thursday ~ No.12

It has been a great couple of weeks – consistent c’est moi natasha posts, great runs, the routine of buying groceries (I really need to start packing lunches again) and the overall feeling of productivity. I’m proud to say I cleaned out my closet the other day since September is fast approaching which made a world of a difference & also made some space for fall favorites.

Of course, as always, thrilled that it’s Thursday and ready to get the weekend started! What are your plans this weekend?! I want to take advantage of the warm weather before the coldness creeps up but I hear it’s raining this weekend so a trip to the mall might be in the works….

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Music Thursday ~ No.11

Getting back into the groove of things has been a bit tough…. my mind is still in Ios and in relaxation mode. But with fall coming super soon (my favorite season), I can’t wait to start getting back into more of a day to day routine. To help me get back into the swing of things, my friend Michelle has an awesome Spotify playlist that I can’t stop listening to – Jammies 2015. Gooey has been one of my faves and as you probably already know, I love discovering new music. Happy Thursday, it’s almost FRI YAY!
