Happy New Year and Happy 2017! It’s been a while since I’ve been in touch, hasn’t it? Last year was a complete whirlwind and I’m disappointed that I didn’t stay as consistent with c’est moi natasha as I had originally planned. But it’s a brand new year, and now that I’m a bit more settled, I really want to give this another try. I also have a really good feeling about 2017. The happiness I get from writing, documenting moments of my life and sharing it with friends like you makes me feel really good. So here we go shall we?

In typical c’est moi natasha fashion, here are my 2017 resolutions. What are your’s?  screen-shot-2017-01-08-at-7-30-37-pm

PS. Here are my resolutions from last year!

Marathon Memories

On December 12, 2015 I ran my first full marathon. It was the most amazing experience I’ve ever had. I was so proud of myself – I had never done something so mentally and physically challenging before. My goal was to finish and that I did! Thank you to all of my family and friends, near and far, for all of your amazing support throughout the unforgettable journey.

I captured a few special moments of the day that I put together into a video that I thought I would share with you. Hope you enjoy it!

PS. If you didn’t catch some of my running dairies, read up on them here, here and here!

Morning Reads

{New York Running Trail}
{Central Park Running Trail – New York, NY}

This might not sound like a typical New York thing to say but I enjoy my morning commutes. I cherish the moments I have walking to my subway stop just a few blocks from my apartment and hopping off again to walk my fifteen minutes to work. I love this time to myself – in my own thoughts, observing the commuters and listening to the morning city sounds.

I’ve picked up a habit of reading newsletters on the subway commute to get my brain going and working. Three subscriptions I’m currently hooked on are theSkImm, The Newsette and Lenny. I HIGHLY recommend subscribing and reading all three during your cherished morning routine.

theSkimm is the daily e-mail newsletter that gives you everything you need to start your day. We do the reading for you and break down the latest news and information with fresh editorial content.

Thank you for all of your support in 2015 and I hope you keep reading c’est moi natasha in 2016!

Since I love making lists, I wrote down my 2016 resolutions and I thought I’d share them with you. I know that a lot of people don’t love resolutions but personally, I find that writing them down helps me achieve and focus on the important things that are top of mind for me.

As I started making my list, I found that it grew very very long (hey, there’s a lot I want to get done!) but I was able to narrow down my resolutions to the top 10. Here they are! What are yours? I would love to hear what’s top of mind for you this year!

Happy 2016!

Change is scary. Well, at least it’s scary for me. I’m a planner- I like to follow a routine and right when I started to feel really comfortable with my routine, change is coming my way. But hey it’s not a bad thing. I’ve learned to embrace the excitement of any & all changes in my life. And from my upbringing, I’ve learned the importance of adjusting and adapting.

The big change coming my way is… I will be living all by myself in Astoria, Queens in December! Yes, that’s right, I am moving uptown to Queens, all.by.myself! I’m so excited to have my own space, a place that is really all mine. I’m also excited to live by myself with my own rules and to save, save, save money. But I’m also really nervous. I’m nervous about the commute (my 9-5 job is all the way downtown) and I’m nervous about being bit isolated up there.

Nonetheless, I have a gut feeling that this is going to be a very positive change for me and I am really looking forward to it.

Fallin’ for Fall

Now that fall is officially here, I’m excited to wrap myself up in printed scarves, stomp around in boots & booties and snuggle up in comfy sweaters. The weather has been crisp in New York but not cold enough to wear tights which I’d like to hold off for a bit longer! Halloween is also around the corner which is my favorite crafty holiday – I have a few costume ideas for this year, so we shall see what happens.

Here is a list of Fall things I’d love to do this year:

1. Learn how to make apple cider & apple cider donuts

2. Rent a cabin in upstate NY for a weekend

3. Put together a fall colored flower bouquet

4. Master how to make a good soup (any recipe suggestions?)

5. Host a fall cocktail party

6. Test a fall season lip color

7. Go to a football game & tailgate

8. Invest in one piece of “must have” fall item

9. Wine tasting at a vinyard surrounded by leaves

10. Find a new fall running route in NYC

PS. See my summer to do list here!

A lot of important people in my life happen to have September birthday’s. From my father to my boyfriend to my boyfriends family, everyone is either a Virgo or a Libra. It’s always a really fun month filled with dinners, cocktails and celebrations which gives me something to look forward to. In London, I also found witty birthday cards that I was able to bring back to give to everyone.

Tonight, I’m heading to Jockey Hollow Bar & Kitchen for a joint birthday celebration and I can’t wait to try it. The menu looks unreal – hello oysters, clams and tartare. To celebrate, I decided to pair up some fun heels with black jeans and a bright shirt. Follow my Instagram to see what the food looks like tonight – mmhmmmm can’t wait!

Last Days of Summer

last days of summer

The last few days of summer are in full force and I’m a little sad to leave Summer 2015 behind. It’s been a great summer filled with many adventures, great food and good people. To celebrate this last hurrah, I’ll be enjoying my last few days of flowy dresses, bathing suits and cover ups in Kiawah this week. Be sure to follow my adventures @cestmoinatasha. Here are a few inspirational shots that remind me of this season coming to a close.

Back & Refreshed!

{Amazing view from the hotel I stayed at in Ios, Greece}

After a two week long hiatus of no blogging and Instagramming, I am finally back and refreshed! I will admit that taking a breather was really nice and I feel even more inspired than I did a few weeks back. Even though I took a mini vacation from the blog, I really missed writing and sharing pieces of my life through images.

I am in definite need of getting back to focusing on c’est moi natasha. I have so many things I want to share and I can’t wait to unleash some creativity again!

All of that being said… Happy Friday! Tune in this week for Greece travel updates, recipes, music, images and so much more. Since I haven’t been around lately, here are a few pictures I wanted to share with you of what I’ve been up to!

Has there ever been a time in your life where you have felt that everything, and I mean everything, is a priority? And I don’t mean everything on your 9-5 work to do list but rather every aspect of life needs to come first, right now, this instant? I can’t seem to currently figure out what I want/need/what I’m supposed to 100% focus on and dedicate myself to. I want everything to be great, settled and in place.

Marathon training is supposed to come first. My relationship is supposed to come first. My family is supposed to come first. My blog is supposed to come first. And same thing for my friendships and my corporate 9-5 life. I want to focus on all of these things with all of my energy but recently the balance isn’t there. Why is it that everything I value is supposed to come first and why am I putting pressure on myself to feel this way?

Right now more than ever, I have this urge to be perfect at everything I’m doing. I’m typically hard on myself but for some reason, unbeknownst to me, something has hit me where this need for perfection has been amplified by 1000x. I want to do a kick ass job 9-5, I want to be the perfect girlfriend, the perfect daughter, the perfect sister, run a perfect run and I can’t figure out why the sudden need for equal perfection in all aspects of my life.

What would my 30 year old self tell my 25 year old self if it saw me today trying to juggle it all? Maybe I can think of two words… r -e-l-a-x  & r-e-b-o-ot? Who knows,  I guess I’ll figure it out in a few years. So in the meantime, I’m going to Greece on Thursday to just lay on a beach. Maybe I’ll figure it out at that point too.
