Top 5 Kitchen Must-Haves

{our new kitchen}

Since I’ve recently moved into my own adult-like place, I’ve started navigating my way around our new kitchen. One of my resolutions is to cook more often in 2017 which I’ve started to do the past few weeks.

Over the last few months though, we’ve received some amazing housewarming gifts and christmas gifts for the kitchen that I’ve absolutely fallen in love with. Yes, we are very lucky to have some really great friends and family in our lives!

If you’re like me and have a wedding packed social calendar this year, I definitely understand the last minute scrambling of engagement gifts or wedding gifts. Here are my top 5 can’t live without, must-have, kitchen items that I’m hoping will inspire and spark some gift ideas. Hope you enjoy!

MacKenzie Childs Tea Kettle

Nespresso Machine

Le Creuset Pot

Wusthof Knife Block Set

Farberware Hot Plates

{This item might seem a bit random but my apartment currently has no gas which means no stove. I’ve had to be creative and buy an electric hot plate which I recently purchased and this one works amazingly well! }

Jamaica Mon

I recently traveled to Jamaica for an amazing family trip that I’m still thinking about daily. It was a gorgeous vacation, filled with vibrant colors, turquoise blue waters and warm, friendly people. We stayed at the beautiful Tryall Club in a house overlooking the vast greenery of Jamaica and all of the stunning views the country has to offer.

The house was absolutely perfect for 12 people. It was spacious enough where it felt as though everyone had their own space and alone time if you wanted it. We had a gorgeous pool overlooking the sea where we spent a lot of our days together just laughing and catching up. Every morning, we’d wake up in our tropical green and brown rooms looking out at a view of trees which almost reminded me a bit of the movie Jurassic Park.

IMG_1220 IMG_1219 IMG_1215 (1) IMG_1214 (1)We had a chef at the house that cooked a variety of simple, local foods including vegetables, rice, and protein filled with Jamaican spices. Every night, there were fun decorative napkins waiting for us at dinner which I wish I had learned how to do!

The rum punches and cocktails were a must have which we treated ourselves to on most nights. The location of the beach from the house was right down the street which was perfect to get to with the golf carts the house had so we could come and go as we pleased. The decor of the island was very british colonial which I thought was beautiful. There was a touch of old world and elegance in every room you walked into.

Beach trips are my favorite to pack for because I know that as long as I have a few bathing suits, a variety of cover ups, short & long dresses then I’m set to go. A perfect sun hat is also the only accessory needed all week. Here are a few of my outfits from the trip!

Family time is precious, especially as we get older, so this trip was really special. Jamaica was the perfect mix of relaxing on the beach and fun day activities like zip lining and catamaran rides. This will be a vacation I will always remember.

First Fashion Moment of the Year

Last night kicked off the first big fashion moment of the year, the Golden Globes. Relaxing on my Restoration Hardware couch over a nice glass of Chianti wine made the perfect Sunday night. Getting into glam mode watching my favorite celebrities rock their stunning gowns on the red carpet is just plain fun. Meryl Streep totally killed her speechEvan Rachel Wood looked pretty awesome in her suit and Millie Bobby Brown is just the coolest twelve year old ever.

2017

Happy New Year and Happy 2017! It’s been a while since I’ve been in touch, hasn’t it? Last year was a complete whirlwind and I’m disappointed that I didn’t stay as consistent with c’est moi natasha as I had originally planned. But it’s a brand new year, and now that I’m a bit more settled, I really want to give this another try. I also have a really good feeling about 2017. The happiness I get from writing, documenting moments of my life and sharing it with friends like you makes me feel really good. So here we go shall we?

In typical c’est moi natasha fashion, here are my 2017 resolutions. What are your’s?  screen-shot-2017-01-08-at-7-30-37-pm

PS. Here are my resolutions from last year!

Rugs on Rugs

Decorating my new apartment has been fun, exciting and just overall awesome. I finally feel like I have my very own place where I can invest in items that I love. We put in gorgeous tile floors that look like wood which I am obsessed with. I don’t want to hide the floors too much since they are so beautiful but I do think an important piece of every room is a pretty rug.

I wanted to buy a rug for the bedroom, living room and hallway to make the place feel more homey. It was tough finding well priced rugs but after weeks of searching, Joss and Main was the perfect sweet spot site. I found reasonably priced, colorful, and very well made rugs for each.and.every.room. I was thrilled when I got them because they were perfect – I can’t recommend this site enough.

What I loved about shopping on Joss and Main is that it’s well organized and there are reviews from customers on each product they have. I’m a BIG customer review person. I took the time and read through each and every review on the rugs I wanted to purchase before making a final decision.

Here are the final three I picked out for each room, hope you love them just as much as I do!

Friday Feels

{Firework gazing on the fourth of July}

I used to do a monthly blog post called “Looking Back” where I’d share pictures of random happenings in my life from that past month. I thought I’d change the series up a bit where every Friday of the week I’ll share tidbits of that particular week. Here is the first of many Friday Feels. I hope you enjoy it!

Music Thursday ~ No.13

On August 13th, I’m heading to Jones Beach to watch Blink-182 play their new album California. I am a huge Spotify fan so as soon as the album came out, I’ve been listening to it on repeat in order to prep for the big day. Here is one of my favorite songs from the album that I thought I’d share. Happy Thursday!

PS. See my last Music Thursday post here!

Blue & Gold

IMG_7205After a great fourth of July weekend in New Jersey, I’m ready for another long weekend! If you didn’t catch my Facebook post the other day, our apartment renovations are finally complete!! I did two very adult things this weekend – I bought a couch at Restoration Hardware and a barbecue at Home Depot. Let me tell ya, it was pretty tiring. I am absolutely thrilled with how the apartment turned out after six, long, grueling months of intense renovations. All I want to do is jump up and down screaming “It’s done, it’s done!” I can’t wait to share more pictures on the blog so be sure to stay tuned!IMG_7216 IMG_7213 IMG_7212Outfit Details: Joie Tunic Dress (similar here) // Equinox Clutch //Vince Camuto Wedges

Marathon Memories

On December 12, 2015 I ran my first full marathon. It was the most amazing experience I’ve ever had. I was so proud of myself – I had never done something so mentally and physically challenging before. My goal was to finish and that I did! Thank you to all of my family and friends, near and far, for all of your amazing support throughout the unforgettable journey.

I captured a few special moments of the day that I put together into a video that I thought I would share with you. Hope you enjoy it!

PS. If you didn’t catch some of my running dairies, read up on them here, here and here!
